I can see what this means (very basically, that when evidence has been submitted in a case, any party can make use of it), but does it have an equivalent in English law?

Principio de adquisición
En materia procesal, si bien las cargas de la afirmación y de la prueba se hallan distribuidas entre cada una de las partes, los resultados de la actividad que aquellas realizan en tal sentido se adquieren para el proceso en forma irrevocable, revistiendo carácter común a todas las partes que en el intervienen.

De acuerdo con el principio de adquisición, por lo tanto, todas las partes vienen a beneficiarse o a perjudicarse por igual con el resultado de los elementos aportados a la causa por cualquier de ellas.

La vigencia del principio enunciado impide, por ejemplo, que alguna de las partes que produjo una prueba desista luego de ella en razón de serle desfavorable; que el ponente de las posiciones pretenda eventualmente desconocer los hechos afirmados en el pliego respectivo; que el actor niegue los hechos expuestos en la
demanda en el caso de que el demandado los invoque en su beneficio; etcétera.

I am not aware of a more precise way of conveying the meaning of adquisición procesal, so I would use something like this.
