Hi all,

Enrique and I are happy to announce that, thanks to renewed participation, winners have been defined in two more language pairs so far:

Congratulations to the winners! They will receive a contest ribbon and a digital certificate in their ProZ.com profiles to mark the win.

Winners for every closed contest pair can be seen here.

A big thank you goes out to everyone who participated by rating and voting! It makes a real difference in providing feedback to those who submitted an entry.

I will be updating this post as more winners are declared.

If you have not rated or voted in your language pair(s) and you would like to do so, please see the post below for open pairs. I will be editing these as well as new pairs are closed or move from Qualifications to Finals phase.

Hope to see you all around for next contest!

Regards,

Tatiana

Hi Daniel,

Site staff are currently campaigning to draw in as many votes as possible, in order to give some feedback to contestants. In connection with this, would you be willing to take a few minutes to vote for your favorite entries in any of your language pairs? As you know, ProZ.com contests are peer-based and every vote counts in making them work.

Thanks!

Winning entries? Nov 28, 2017

Will the language pair pages be updated at some point so that we can see the winning entry? At the moment all pages are still showing all final entries and the phrase "Winning entries will soon be announced in this language pair."

Dear Thomas,

Thanks for pointing this out.

It looks like there was a bug in the code that was preventing winning entries from being displayed while the contest was in Hybrid phase (when different language pairs are in different stages —Qualifications, Finals or closed).

I reported this to site developers and it is now fixed, so you will be able to see winning entries for every closed pair.

Regards,

Tatiana

Naming the finalists Dec 24, 2017

I was pleased to see that my pair - Italian to English - had been closed after so many years, even though I only came second! I only discovered it by accident though. In previous competitions, the finalists' names have been revealed on their entries - unless anonymity was requested if I remember correctly. It wasn't easy to discover even the name of the winner on this occasion.
Could the names be added please?

Dear Russell,

Thanks for pointing this out. You are correct, contestants who have not opted out of having their names displayed should have their names visible. Hiding them was not a staff decision. Rather, there seems to be some technical issue, which I have referred to site developers.

Regards,

Tatiana
