Italian term

monoproprietà

Italian to English Law/Patents Real Estate
In a list of high-end properties that an agency is offering for sale in various parts of the world, some are described as "mono", one as "monoproprieta'", and others as "multiproprieta'" (which I have as time-share).
...
Is "mono" going to be short for "monoproprieta'" (I had originally assumed "monolocale", but this may be less likely given the premium nature of the market)? And what is a monoproprieta'?
...
TIA :)

single owner property

This would seem to be an apartment block with one single owner, as opposed to a condominium with each apartment having a single owner. Or at least that is how the term is used here:

http://www.ilecci.it/doc/amministrazione_supercondominio.pdf

"... evidenziato come l’amministrazione di condominio sia un mondo a parte rispetto alla gestione di patrimoni immobiliari mono-proprietari, ma che tra le due realtà esiste la gestione di edifici condominiali complessi, i supercondominii, che richiedono per coloro che, per solo per ora, ..."

neutral Sarah Ferrara : I think this is correct in the condominium-administration context (monoproprietario di un condominio) but fairly sure in this case it's is mono as opposed to multi - proprietà - full vs fractional ownership of the unit in question

I don't think that monoproprietà is used in the conventional sense here but as a term opposed to multiproprietà.

full ownership

In this context, monoproprietà almost certainly refers to the full ownership of the property as opposed to fractional ownership (multiproprietà). I would use the term fractional ownership as opposed to timeshare, for two reasons: the legal setup of multiproprietà is closer to fractional ownership than timeshare, and also in real estate terms these days timeshare is rarely used because of the negative connotations: fractional ownership is the current buzz word and much more appealing to the market.

Monoproprietà in this sense means full ownership of the property advertised for sale, not ownership of all the units in the building.

Ciao, spero che questa spiegazione possa esserti utile.
Mono-proprietà: la titolarità in capo ad un unico soggetto giuridico di uno o alcuni edifici multipiano.
Insomma proprietario unico...unique owner (?)
