Medical (general)
Tijdens gebruik van een betablokker kan psoriasis mogelijk verergeren; daarom moet de indicatie zorgvuldig worden gesteld.

: I don't think you can say: the indication of a beta-blocker (its indication) must be carefully considered, can you? "the indication of a beta-blocker??" I don't think it's correct, is it? You can say: "a beta-blocker is indicated" though

but this shoud be a well-founded decision
it just means: er moet een grondige reden voor bestaan / there should be a sound reason to do so
You can't use "indication" here, this is a "false friend"

"shoud" must of course be "should"
there should be a sound reason to use this this beta-blocker

therefore its USE (the use of the beta-blocker) should be careful considered

Dutch term (edited):
indicatie
medical grounds
Als de klant gewoon niet happy is met "indication" (komt me hier ook wat te vaag voor) The medical grounds should be carefully considered

any decision to use it should be taken with caution
Here's another possibility that avoids the problems of "indications".

Determine the indication
In this instance I would rewrite the sentence thus:
When use of a betablokker is indicated, this use must be carefully considered as it can cause worsening of psoriasis
When use of a betablokker is indicated, this use must be carefully considered as it can cause worsening of psoriasis
7 hrs
considering a course of treatment
I think that 'indicatie' translates somewhere between symptoms and treatment in English. I think the term above seems to capture that well.
Example sentence:
Exacerbation of psoriasis is a common side effect of beta blockers; this course of treatment should therefore be considered carefully before being prescribed.
Tijdens gebruik van een betablokker kan psoriasis mogelijk verergeren; daarom moet de indicatie zorgvuldig worden gesteld.

Dutch term (edited):
de indicatie moet zorgvuldig worden gesteld
the indication must be carefully stated/recorded
In the patient's notes or medical record.
Discussion
which verb should be used with "indication" in this context?
There can be an indication FOR a certain treatment, but not an indication OF a certain treatment
so you could say
the indication for it must therefore be carefully established/considered
Perhaps you can leave in 'indication' but rewrite the sentence, for instance 'When use of a betablokker is indicated, this use must be carefully considered as it can cause worsening of psoriasis.'
