Discussion

George BuLah (X) Jul 18, 2014:
Niektórzy tak.
Kolega, który to podał - specjalizuje się w dziedzinie.

Przy okazji - trzeba jednak przyznać częściowo rację Lilian. Lekarze starszego pokolenia posługują się w kontekście poprawnym słowem "oszczędzający", a nie - "oszczędny".

Frank Szmulowicz, Ph. D. Jul 18, 2014:
We can exert unsparing efforts to try better. Sparing is more like modest in the sense of frugal.

(wrong usage of the Polish word--oszczedny), modest

Modest, perhaps, but this really does not mean anything in Polish--we can only guess what the person meant.
Note from asker:
chodzi o oszczędzanie się

disagree Swift Translation : you simply don't understand the Polish phrase, but why on earth would you claim it's incorrect?

neutral George BuLah (X) : I do agree with you as to a questionable usage of "oszczędny" here, but I think a "modest" here is wrong

the "taking it easy" lifestyle

Fasting requires taking it easy and getting rest because you don’t eat enough calories to do all the activities you normally would - http://www.livestrong.com/article/549592-five-day-whey-prote...

Perhaps you know someone who believes being physically active at an older age may be damaging to their health, and that they need to take it easy as they age. Truth be known, it is the taking it easy lifestyle that will kill us - http://www.laservices.ca/docs/media/Solutions_Article2.pdf - page 2

I'm so good at just taking it easy and would much favour a low variance, taking it easy lifestyle over a work-hard, play-hard one -

Tak bym to ujął, bo chodzi o oszczędzanie własnego organizmu, a nie pieniędzy ani energii.
