Devis Pre-OP

français vers anglais Autre Entreprise / commerce Accounting / Invoicing
This appears in a legal agreement setting out invoicing terms.
As yet in my own research I have not been able to confirm an often-used translation for what seems to be a straightforward tem, so any help appreciated. Thanks.

Mai Tran Jan 29, 2015:
Suggestion: how about "bid"? job bid, contractor's bid.
Anna Morvern (asker) Jan 29, 2015:
I haven't found anything from my own research.
No, Mai, nothing to do with medical surgery etc.
I think the meaning is "pre-operative" but not in the medical sense, in the sense of "before the works have been commenced".
The context is service provision, and invoicing terms under a legal agreement.
Mai Tran Jan 29, 2015:
Could you give the context please? Is it related to a medical surgery (operation) and/or assessing risk of operation ?
writeaway Jan 29, 2015:
what have you found so far from your own research?

Estimate

Without seeing the context I'm not sure of the formality required. However, I'd agree that Pre-OP implies "before commencing the job" so perhaps this is to represent an upfront quote after which there could be further charges, hence: estimate.
