When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.
How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)
A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

What is a blind flange?
A blind flange is a solid flange as shown below. The purpose of these is to block off a section of pipe or a nozzle on a vessel that is not used. (A nozzle is typically a pipe coming out of a vessel and is usually flanged so it can be connected to valves or piping). Many times a nozzle will be blanked off with a blind flange for pressure tests in a plant, or simply because the customer does not need
all the nozzles that were supplied on the tank.

Fitting End Caps, Blind Flanges & Plugs
Image provided by Ferris State University
Blind flanges, plugs, and end caps are all fittings used to end or block a run of pipe. They can also be used to force effluent out of perforated holes, as in gray water subsurface irrigation. They are often liquid or gas tight, depending on the needs of the system.
A blind flange is simply a flange without a center hole that, when bolted to a pipe flange, closes the end of a pipe. A plug is a male threaded fitting which seals the end run of a pipe when fitted into a female threaded fitting. An end caps is a female threaded fitting and is threaded over the end of a piece of pipe to seal it off.
