Italian term

PV

Italian to English Medical Medical (general)
This is taken from a log of events occurring during a patient's time in hospital (unfortunately ending in death a few days later). There are a couple of entries each day and I'm struggling to figure out the meaning of "PV" here. Both of these entries were written by the same doctor on the same day. I believe the first use may be "parametri vitali" but that doesn't fit the rest of the uses (IMO anyway). Another thought is that the other uses may be a shortened version of "paziente vigile" but I'm unsure.

Any insight would be much appreciated!

Discussion

Emily Gilby (asker) Oct 29, 2021:
Thanks Joseph! I'll add these to my glossary too :)
Joseph Tein Oct 28, 2021:
Ciao Emily! In my glossary, for 'presa visione' I have: having read / reviewed / examined
Emily Gilby (asker) Oct 28, 2021:
That's really helpful, thank you Fiona!
Fiona Grace Peterson Oct 28, 2021:
Viewed I would use "viewed", to specify that he or she saw the results and that their subsequent actions were based on them.
Emily Gilby (asker) Oct 28, 2021:
Can anyone suggest how this would be rendered in English if "PV" is to mean "presa visione"? Is it that the doctor making the notes is just acknowledging that these tests etc. were performed?

Note from asker:
It's certainly an option, can you provide a bit more of an explanation please?
Grazie Luigi!

agree Fiona Grace Peterson : Yes, but not in the first instance, which I think is "parametri vitali", vital signs
