Can anyone help me determine what "nozione" means here? This is a discharge report for a patient who was hospitalised for a UTI with complications. I would say that this means "history of", however, it is not mentioned in the patient's history that they have Graves' disease, only that they have a multinodular goitre. Does it mean that they have an understanding of Graves' disease? Any help would be great!
"La paziente è nota per una nozione di malattia di Basedow. Attualmente riscontriamo un quadro di ipertiroidismo malgrado la terapia in atto."

Suggestion
"The patient is known to have a suggestion of Basedow's disease. We currently experience a picture of hyperthyroidism despite ongoing therapy."
In other words, there is a suggestion that the patient is suffering from this complaint, though it is not yet medically established or proven. The " suggestion" may even be in the patiient's own mind , if they are of a particularly suggestible cast of mind.

possibility - possible symptoms of Graves'
I've never seen "nozione" being used with this meaning, but given the context I'd say a possibility of Graves'.
That is, something in the patient's condition has been pointing toward Graves' disease, or, alternatively (because of the way it is phrased), something to that effect was mentioned in a previous report or by the patient herself.
In both cases, a definitive diagnosis is yet to be made.

Example sentence:
The patient is known for a possibility of Graves' disease.
The patient is known/has been reported for possible symptoms of Graves' disease.
