Arabic term

فكره معقد

Arabic to English Other Idioms / Maxims / Sayings
Hi all,
I'm wondering if you can help me to translate this idiomatically into US English. It appears in a few isolated sentences in a project I am working on:
- أصحاب الفكر المعقد لا يستطيعون تكوين صداقات طويلة
- نفر منه كل أصدقائه لأن فكره معقد
- لا تكن ذا فكر معقد وكن منفتحًا محبًا للحياة

I came up with 'complex-minded' but it doesn't sound very idiomatic. I'm grateful for your thoughts.

Thank you in advance for your help :)

limited mindset

A limited mindset is the belief that there are limitations to what you can accomplish in life. It's also the idea that there is only one way something should be done and it's not okay if things don't go your way. This mindset could limit your job opportunities, relationships, or even how successful you are in school

Cognitively rigidity

Because he is cognitively rigid
OR probably:
Because he's dogmatic
Cognitive rigidity is “difficulty changing mental sets.” Simply put, this means switching from thinking about things one way to thinking about them a different way. (People who can do this easily are said to have "cognitive flexibility" — the opposite of cognitive rigidity.)
