Discussion

andres-larsen Dec 18, 2023:
Infracture Infracture / infraction / fracture without displacement of the dorsomedial and dorsolateral tibial edge.
Pamela Downes-Grainger (asker) Dec 18, 2023:
The document is from Austria.
Marion Linssen Dec 18, 2023:
Is your document from Switzerland? There is the German term of "Infraktion" (from the Latin infringere) which is synonyme to inkomplette Fraktur. Often due to a traumatic experience and would translate as incomplete fracture.

partial fracturing

Not peculiar to Austria (or the legion of Luxembourg doctors qualifying over here - query: written by my French-speaking Lux neighbour upstairs), but the gerundive form might be. Funnily enough, a surgeon in Vienna made a very similar partially-cracked and incomplete fracture of ankle and tibia diagnosis on me when surmising London Marathon overtraining from many years before.

I'll leave ProZ medical translators to nail the rest of the phrase.
Example sentence:

Incomplete or partial fracture – This is a crack that does not completely break the bone into two or more pieces.

Als Infraktion bezeichnet man die unvollständige Fraktur eines Knochens ohne Dislokation der Fragmente.

Peer comment(s):

agree uyuni : with incomplete/partial. Just 'fracture' rather than 'fracturING', though...
