Also called "emergence" or "point of emergence" of the spinal nerves

Thoracic PVB involves injection of local anesthetic (LA) solution at the point of emergence of spinal nerves from the intervertebral foramen

Yes, literally 'emergences'. But why is it in the plural when protrusione is singular?
We've had several previous questions where it means 'exit point/site'. Does that make sense here?
Emergenze The term "emergenze" comes from the verb "emergere", so in this particular context, "emergenze" are literally "things that emerge", a synonym for protrusions.

The nerve root that exits the spine at a particular level is referred to as the “exiting” nerve root. Example: The L4 nerve root exits the spine at the L4-L5 level. Traversing nerve root. Another nerve root goes across the disc and exits the spine at the next level below. It is called the “traversing” nerve root.

of the excrescences

A token alternative answer and, funnily enough, is 'already in the ProZ Glossaries' - albeit in a geological outcrop guise. Note that excrescence is not the same as 'excretion'.

As picked up on in the Discussion Entries, it doesn't agree with 'protrusione' in the singular, so must be acting as a noun aka substantive.

Also does pluralis/ze well, as in the second example sentence.
Example sentence:

Excrescence: in medicine and physiology, an outgrowth, especially of this skin, such as occurs in carnosity

excrescences / plural : a distinct outgrowth on a body or plant, resulting from disease or abnormality.
