Czech to English Bus/Financial Finance (general) shares (hromadná akcie)

What would be the best translation for "hromadná akcie" into English?

I'm translating a 1995 document... Everything is clear, except for the type of shares. I thought it is an "ordinary share", but Milada doesn't agree with me... Can it be that in 1995 there was different terminology for the shares in Czech republic?
