Smoked ribs? It's the "plochá" part I'm not sure about. Does it refer to ribs from a particular part of the animal?

hate to shoot myself in the foot...but I am now inclined to rescind my answer and agree with Maria, I chatted with a Czech butcher here in Zlin and his description of just where this cut of beef/pork is matches the simple "spare rib": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spare_ribs
p.s. @ Maria, I just planted about 20 Beros "Goat horn pepper plants"! I'll let you know what heat they reach :)

Thanks, everyone. There may be some problems of definition here... "Spare ribs" (as suggested by Maria) came to mind, though I tend to think of spare ribs as being separate ribs (separate rather than in a slab), because that's the way I've seen them in Chinese restaurants in the UK.

Riblets are prepared by butchers by cutting a full set of spare ribs approximately in half. This produces a set of short, flat ribs where the curved part of the rib is removed.

whole smoked ribs

The word plochá refers to a larger piece of ribs, most probably half of the thorax or the whole rib-bone, not just a cut out piece of ribs. Look at the link below to get an idea of how it looks like.
I assume this term is used only in wholesale.
