it\'s up to you. you can keep the Dutch and use the English (Brie on straw, Brie on a straw mat) in (), or you can use the French with the English in () or you can just use the English. Have fun.

brie cheese (presented on osier place mat)

I may be wrong, but I think 'mat' is simply a literal translation of the French 'natte': een 'mat' (JONCHÉE) 'en osier ou en roseau servant de présentoir pour certains fromages'.

brie cheese (bree) - One of the most popular of imported cheeses, brie has been called the "king of all cheeses." This cheese is made from whole, skim, or partially skim cow's milk (the quality varies with the kind of milk used). It is described as creamy, smooth, and very delicate. The natural white rind of the brie cheese is edible; so don't discard it when serving brie as an appetizer.

History: Brie cheese originated in France centuries ago. It is named after La Brie, the province in northern France where it was first made.

Brie de Meaux is known as the "king of cheeses". It received this title on the occasion of the Viennese congress in 1814. Gourmets in France and the rest of the world agreed that this distinction be given to the Brie de Meaux, making it one of the most famous cheeses. In contrast to "normal" brie, whose origin is not protected, the AOC cheese Brie de Meaux, can only come from a certain area in the Ile-de-France near Paris. Here it has kept its rural tradition and its hand-crafted production.

Grazie, signora.
