Dutch term

procesbeschrijvingen

This word occurs in a job description for a secretary and appears in the following section:

Verricht werkzaamheden van representatieve aard (gastvrouwfunctie). Levert een bijdrage aan de uitvoering van bepaalde projecten, zoals bijv. verhuizingen, procesbeschrijvingen, invoeren van procedures en/of apparatuur e.d. Rapporteert hierover aan de manager.
Organiseert (regionale) bijeenkomsten voor relaties.

Discussion

seaMount Dec 17, 2004:
So, nothing legal here!
seaMount Dec 17, 2004:
The text describes 'invoeren van procedures en/of apparatuur'. 'invoeren van' should probably be interpreted as 'introduction and implementation'. 'Procedures' is i.m.o. to be interpreted als 'workflow description' that is: description of a workmethod'
seaMount Dec 17, 2004:
I'm pretty sure. I see no context that relates to law o.s.. And given the "representatieve aard" - with all due respect: I don't think they would let her make descripions of lawsuits (would be up to the communications department or legal professionals)
Non-ProZ.com Dec 17, 2004:
proces Are you sure that proces means "process" here? According to my dictionary it can mean "process" or "criminal trial/lawsuit". The same goes for "invoeren van procedures". My dictionary says that "procedures" can mean "procedures" OR "legal proceedings". I am asking because I am not sure, not because I think it is one or the other.

voldoet dit antwoord of gaat het om een toelichting of meer omschrijvende vertaling?

process descriptions

I would simply write "process descriptions", it's a common English term in the field of e.g. quality.

In my opinion we are not talking about legal proceedings here. In Dutch we don't say "procedure invoeren" in this context, but rather "een procedure opstarten, inleiden".

neutral jarry (X) : not in this context P. No, not responsible, but "levert een bijdrage aan", see asker's question.
