Dutch term
testes ingedaald
Dutch to English
Medical
Medical: Health Care
gynecology, examinations & tests, newborns
This phrase is from the physical examination of a newborn. I think it is "testes descended" but I could not find the main verb. I have only come across "dalen" and "neerdalen" for "descend, etc." and I can not tell if the "in-" prefix carries the meaning of a negative Latin "in-"/"un-" or if it means "into". Couldn't find this in any form, whole or truncated, in several sources including a DutEng medical dictionary and some creative searching for possible German med equivalents.

Note from asker:
Thank you, Adam. And thank you all. @ Margreet, the extra clarification helps a lot. @ all, does this form then exist only as a participle adjective without any corresponding base form verb, i.e. there is no verb infinitive "indalen"? Or is that not correct? |
