With transition animations, a picture is divided in many triangles (memory use reduction), and from there manipulated into an animation.
A build animation is a 'fully' graphic animation where every next step/picture in the animation is stand-alone (using more memory than transition animation).
Build refers to the action render, which you perform at the end of your animation work, the animation is then build and represented.
