Spanish term

(unir o dividir) horizontal o verticalmente

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Real Estate legal text about a new bungalow on a development in Alicante

- For "propiedad horizontal" I have "commonhold property". Now need to translate the above term.

Many thanks for all contributions.

to consolidate or split their properties along horizontal or vertical lines

"Propiedad horizontal" is actually referred to by some as "horizontal property". They're talking about splitting a property into flats (by floors=horizontally; by putting in a dividing wall right through the house=vertically) or combining flats to create larger homes.

agree Richard McDorman : I agree with your interpretation of the text as well as your suggested translation. You could also use "partition" instead of "split."
