2.3 Buques de cálculo
Se han analizado las condiciones de acceso y salida a la Bahía de XXX bajo las condiciones del estudio.
Es importante destacar que se trata de un barco de mayor dimensión y diferentes características a los que normalmente acceden a la bahía.
Los buques portacontenedores se caracterizan por sus formas finas, por tal razón este tipo de buques tienden a sumergirse en la popa (efecto Squat).
Debido a las características de la carga, compuesta por hileras de contenedores en bodega y sobre la cubierta, el área de la obra muerta y obra viva son muy grandes, lo que hace al buque muy sensible a la acción del viento y la corriente de fondo en cualquier condición respectivamente.

Actually, a design vessel is not a type of vessel. Engineers use it for simulation purposes, usually by means of a computer application. That way they can know if the ship will be viable before actually constructing it.

The study is to find out how the ship will react to the various factors encountered in the harbor. This would help the harbor pilot to handle the ship when taking it in or out of the harbor. (the regular ship's pilot hands over control to the harbor or port pilot when approaching or leaving port).
