thinking that far ahead, because who knows what tomorrow brings ? But based on the past 5 years and the first 6 months of 2023 I have every reason to be optimistic.

I’ve been working as a translator for over 40 years and I’m still not able to predict how busy each day/week/month will be, so I've given up even trying. There is no typical day in the life of a freelance translator. The only thing I know for sure is that a slow period is always followed by a hectic one…

I have no idea what the future will bring. So far 2023 has been great, plenty of interesting well-paid work, but not so much that I'll be in danger of earning too much and being forced into another, more heavily taxed freelance status. I've even had time for some art exhibitions and I'm just finishing up a new summer outfit too.

In terms of work, I'm expecting to have more or less business as usual.
What might affect my output are my health issues. I'm currently undergoing tests and may have to undergo an operation, and the convalescence time will obviously affect my ability to work. However, I have a couple 0f trusted colleagues who can help pick up the slack.
