I used to live in Germany, but now I am back in Singapore. I have the same problem - 99% of my clients are in Europe and the US. They start their office hours at 4pm my time and end at 3am the next morning. I have no choice but to stay with their hours. I still get up at 8 in the morning, but I take a nap in the afternoon (sometimes one more in the evening) so I can last till 3am. It's not a big deal for me because I am a night owl anyway. You can also consider getting a Blackberry.... See more I used to live in Germany, but now I am back in Singapore. I have the same problem - 99% of my clients are in Europe and the US. You can also consider getting a Blackberry. You get instant email notifications so if there is a job you are interested in, you can get out of bed to reply. Of course, this disrupts your sleep. I think it really depends on how you want to balance life and work. Some people insist on having regular, normal hours. For me, I am flexible. For newbies in this industry, they may have to work harder to establish a client base, so "catching" these clients is important. Good luck! Denyce ▲ Collapse
