Underwear. Jun 23, 2022

Hardware: no (possibly next year or in two years)
Software: no (see above)
Marketing: yes, if you consider Proz as a marketing tool (which it is to a certain extent).
Training / industry events: no. Training might be useful, although the only training I followed in my 22 year career was a theoretical course about post-editing which took me less than an hour to complete. Training might be useful, although the only training I followed in my 22 year career was a theoretical course about post-editing which took me less than an hour to complete. I will never ever attend 'industry events' like multiple day seminars and the like. They are ridiculously expensive and as far as I'm concerned utterly useless. And they keep you from working and earning money.
Administrative processes / solutions: no.

I've invested in underwear, though.

...like I mentioned yesterday. But I have dropped my membership with a certain translation jobs portal, which I paid for over a period of many years. They haven't forwarded me a single request for a book translation, or for any academically-oriented project, for what seems like the last year, when they used to quite frequently, and I was often awarded the same. Makes no sense anymore for me to pay 100 dollars or more a year for memberships on these sites—just to be able to bid on ONE, or just ... See more

Mostly hardware Jun 23, 2022

A new iMac, a new Macbook Pro and small gadgets like a hub for 4 SSDs, some new mouses, a new external 1 TB SSD for my MBP, a LED lamp with a display (temperature, time, date) for my office which on March 23 shows Wednesday as the day of the week (it's Thursday, actually... ah, sacrés Chinois ...), oh, yes, an iWatch 6, a new iPad for my collaborator wife, and others I can't remember.

Nothing Jun 24, 2022

See discussions about yesterday's poll. I have covered certain routine business expenses over the past two years, but nothing that could be considered an "investment".

Let's try to be precise in our use of language, shall we?

The stock market Jun 24, 2022

Despite what some claim, there's a life after translation.
The current market dip in the US offers lots of buying opportunities.
