Dear colleagues,
I would appreciate simple information on how to set up my own ftp.
I use Proz hosting and as I understand I have the ftp thingy there. I have to send a rather big document and have to set up a separate place in this ftp with login name and password so that this person can download the doc. I have never done this before and just have no idea where to start and how to go about it.

I too would be interested in doing this. I have a proz.com hosted account and woud like to have the ability for clients to be able to post jobs and then receive them via ftp.

It seems, I had same question an year ago, and got the information that it requires a local ftp.server and proz.com advanced hosting services to setup a multi-ser ftp.server, like we know from various agncies, whereas the basic hosting supports only one or only anonymous ftp access. Hi Burrell,
It would be nice if anagrams could be written out in full just once, so that everyone knows what is under discussion.
The person initiating a discussion is only like to get 20% feedback if people can’t understand at a glance what a discussion revolves around.

Hi Mike,
I have no idea what it stands for, the clients I deal with know what it is and that is enough for me. I suppose I can only get help from people who know what it is anyhow.

Defined as: a standard for the exchange of program and data files across a network

all I get is the admin´s panel at port 3145, disabled port 21 finally got at 6000, it is actually up and running but it took 2 nights to reach this stage. Now the test transfer is a total failure. Niklas said, he would help me, but haven´t seen any results yet. Finally decided, atleast till Niklas comes, for cuteftp server (very visual and easy installation, took no time at all), and simultaneously trying bulletproof, black moon etc., Brandis
