Dar all,
Since I have to work with several documentscwhile I am out of my office for a couple of days, I uploaded them (with many others) in my memory stick. Now: precisely the documents that I need (Murphy´s law) are no longer in word in memory stick but as doc.vem. What the hell is this? How did this happen? And the most important thing: how can I get my documents back??!! I really need them.
A desperate software victim
Thanks in advance
Conrado

Maybe just change extension?

Manual change doesn't do any longer in latest versions of Windows, but free software for that recommended by PC World is here:
Ah, yes, after installing it, on the right click on the respective file icon you will get an option "Extension". Left click on it and you will get all the options.
"Micro Vault Virtual Expander is Sony's unique file compression software. It is pre-installed on devices. With the driver installed in Windows simply dragging a file to the device will cause the file to be compressed and get a .VEM file extension; dragging that file from the device back to the computer will automatically decompress it. But, the driver must be installed on the computer before this will happen."
