control network

RIES is an internet voting system. The document which describes it calls beheernetwerk "control network" in English and may be consulted here:

Peer comment(s):

agree Lianne van de Ven : Control is typically vertaald als beheer - en ook andersom// I do see refs on 'internal management network' which MAY be shortened to 'management network'. Otherwise it's rather plant/health/financial/information/trust/sports etc. management network.

Thanks, Lianne. Agree with your comment. We are at an advantage here because we have the benefit of the English language description (almost a specification) of the system under discussion with the terminology named by those who designed it.
neutral Ben Hickman : If, as you say, the term has already been translated as "control network", it may be necessary to choose this option for the sake of consistency. There are, however, an unbelievable number of poor translations "out there", so it pays to remain critical.

Their English may be awful, but I suggest that the Digital Security Group, Institute for Computing & Information Sciences Nijmegen and the Eindhoven Institute for the Protection of Systems and Information are competent to name the hardware in English.
agree Ron Willems : I agreed before, but that one disappeared... Here's another one - based on your ref.

management network

I don't see anything wrong with simply calling this a 'management network'. It is clearly a subnetwork or parallel network intended to manage a primary network. Depending on the context, this might be referred to as an 'out-of-band private network', but it's difficult to say without more context.
