Other - German language state examination at a higher level at »Cene Štupar - Center for Continuing Education« (https://www.cene-stupar.si/en/home), certificate no. Z051 / J52 / 804530, issued by the National Examination Centre
Experience
Years of experience: 21. Registered at ProZ.com: Feb 2006.
I am 55 years old, a high school graduate (pedagogical high school). I am a Slovenian independent translator (freelancer).
I have about 19 years of experience in translation and am a native Slovenian speaker.
According to the European language scale CEFR, I have a C2 level of understanding of German.
I am self-taught and do not have a diploma, but in 2005 I passed the state exam in German at a higher level at "Cene Štupar - Center for Education" and received a certificate no. Z051 / J52 / 804530 issued by the National Examination Center, which I am very proud of, despite the fact that I am self-taught.
In addition to my regular job, I started a self-employed firm in 2003. 70 percent of activities were translations from German to Slovenian and vice versa (professional and technical translations: main clients Liebherr, Komatsu, Hella / medical text translations: main clients Institute
of Bioresonance and Regulatory Medicine Ljubljana, REGUMED Institute of Regulatory Medicine Germany), and 30 percent were sales of s. (online store, out-of-store sales). Years ago, I had to close the firm again for personal reasons, but I am confident that I will be able to reach my short-term goal of self-employment and reregistration of an independent company by the beginning of next year.
Precision, consistency, and grammatical and terminological relevance are all things I strive towards. This is achieved, among other things, by using of contemporary CAT technologies such as:
- SDL TRADOS Studio (own license)
- Across
- Wordfast (no license)
- Wordfast Anywhere (no license needed)
- MemoQ (no license)
- OmegaT

I charge € 17.00 per page (250 words or 1,500 characters without spaces) or € 0.068 per word for translations. I do not charge extra for working on weekends and holidays.
I am always willing to work out a special deal (quantity discounts, discounts for regular customers, etc.).
I will not issue an invoice to SEPA customers until the company is officially registered next year. I'm working on a deferred payment arrangement while translating. I am currently working successfully and to the satisfaction for both parties for various clients on deferred payment. As a result of our agreement, there have been no issues or misunderstandings so far.
Of course, you have the option of using PayPal, a bank transfer, or another payment method of your choice too.
I translate an average of 2000 words a day, depending on the difficulty of the text. This way, I can work at a comfortable speed and have time to proofread my work and correct it if necessary.
I would be grateful if you would let me demonstrate my proficiency in a brief test translation using my previous experience. I am confident that you will be satisfied, as will I, because I will be able to put my experience and knowledge to work for you as efficiently as possible.
