Hello everyone,

I've been asked by a Japanese client for guidance on pronouncing a German word, "Kurzarbeit".

Does anyone know of any online Japanese/German resources that have a good pronunciation guide, or anything else that might help? I'd like to send in some links or information when I return the project tomorrow.

My German is very basic and I certainly wouldn't want to give anyone pronunciation advice. ^_^;

Many thanks in advance

How about a German grammar book written in Japanese? Apr 13, 2010

Hello Arline,

According to my experience, German pronunciation is much easier than English. Below are a few links related to your question:

If you google by entering "ドイツ語の発音", you'll get about 156,000 hits.

P.S. Maybe you know this already, but "Kurzarbeit" is pronounced クルツアルバイトin German.

Hello Yasutomo,

Thank you very much for your reply and the links! I hadn't thought of searching on ドイツ語の発音 but of course, that makes perfect sense.

Many thanks
Arline
