Spanish term

adecuación del equipo

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general)
Hi all,

Again, this appears in a text detailing a call for eco-friendly business proposals. Does anyone know how I should translate 'Adecuación del equipo' here?

Adecuación del equipo: firms who submit proposals should respect gender equality and have multidisciplinary teams which include seniors. They should also include people of different nationalities, and people with disabilities, etc.

All suggestions are welcome

Regards,

Jack

equity and diversity of human resources

Not a literal translation but makes the point.

You might even leave out "of human resources", as the subsequent definition will make it clear.

We all share responsibility for equity and diversity—it’s everybody’s everyday work. Diversity goes well beyond numeric representation and access. Far from just enriching campus life or the academic experience, equity and diversity are critical to issues of campus culture and climate, and fundamental to everything we do at the University of Minnesota

agree philgoddard : Yes, I would leave out "human resources". In fact you could just say "diversity".

Team suitability

My proposal.
Could be also "fitting"
Good luck
Peer comment(s):

neutral AllegroTrans : it's not about suitability per se, but requirements relating to diversity

agree Billh : This is by far the best answer in my view.

Thanks, maybe a little more context could help. From my point of view, the word "Adecuación" sounds a little bit odd in Spanish. Usually the term applies to things like cars or furniture.

Spanish term (edited): Adecuación del equipo

Team requirements

Based on your translation of the text after the term in question, this could work in English maybe.

agree neilmac : KIS. They appear to encourage codger-employment, which I heartily support :)

Team composition???

Teams are omnipresent in our world today. Sports teams, marketing teams, teams of engineers, teams of teachers, teams of leaders; teams working in person and teams working virtually; teams teaming up with other teams and new teams replacing old teams.

Beneath the team and its goals lies the composition of the team or, in its simplest terms, who is on the team. The two (or more) individuals composing the team have characteristics that create the profile of the team. Additionally, the team could be any size, work in any context, and have a variety of team structures

Team composition can be defined as the aspect of a team created by the configuration of team member attributes (Bell, 2007). It also has been identified as a causal factor that affects other aspects of a team (Moreland & Levine, 1992). The composition of a team is considered to have a strong influence on team processes and outcomes (Bell, 2007).

Team composition can either be homogeneous, all the same, or heterogeneous, containing differences. There are conflicting opinions on which is best. Homogeneous teams may perform better due to similarities in experience and thought, while heterogeneous teams may perform better due to diversity and greater ability to take on multiple roles
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Team_Composition

Team size and composition affect the team processes and outcomes. The optimal size (and composition) of teams is debated and will vary depending on the task at hand
Regarding composition, all teams will have an element of homogeneity and heterogeneity. The more homogeneous the group, the more cohesive it will be. The more heterogeneous the group, the greater the differences in perspective and increased potential for creativity, but also the greater potential for conflict.
