Quick reminder of how SHARES works
- You make monthly contributions of between 20-200 Euros (or equivalent in local currency).
- On a quarterly basis Unilever use your contributions to purchase Unilever shares for you, these are your Investment Shares.
- Buy 3 Get 1 Free!For every 3 Investment Shares your money buys, Unilever gives you one free Match share.
- You need to hold your Investment Shares for 3 years in order to take ownership of the free Match Shares.

So, What Happens After Three Years?
Congratulations!! After three years, if you have held onto your Investment Shares and not sold them, the corresponding Match Shares will become yours (“vest”) and you will take full ownership of them!
The ‘vesting date’is the three year anniversary of when the Investment Shares were purchased using your contributions, and when the right to Match Shares were awarded to you.
On the vesting date, the Match Shares become actual shares that are yours to keep or sell.
Dividend equivalents you have earned on your Match Shares over the three year vesting period will also be used to buy further Unilever shares for you. These will also become yours on the vesting date.
