French translation: investissement à perte

English term or phrase: a wasting investment
This is part of a will, in the list of powers conferred upon the trustees:

"I declare... my Trustees shall have the following powers:
- to postpone any sale [...] of any part of my estate [...] for any period of time they think fit without being responsible for any loss, even though the part concerned may be comprised in a **wasting, speculative or reversionary investment;**"

My current draft:
... même si la part concernée est comprise dans un investissement de gaspillage, spéculatif ou de réversion ;

I am not sure about "investissement de gaspillage" - is there a better term?
Thank you for your help.

French translation:investissement à perte
Explanation:
Dans un testament, le style notarial utiliserait plutôt l'expression "investissement à perte", plutôt que "investissement à fonds perdus" qui ne sonne pas très juridique.

disagree  Laurent Di Raimondo: Je suis d'accord avec cette expression dans un contexte purement financier. Mais dans un contexte notarial, cette expression est maladroite.

disagree  Daryo: makes no sense whatsoever - no one would be remotely interested in buying "un investissement à fonds perdus" (=no return expected ever, money vanished in thin air), so selling THAT kind of investment is a non-starter, at any point in time.

Investissement descendant

Explanation:

disagree  AllegroTrans: No, this term describes a phase in an investment (i.e. it can fall and rise) whereas a wasting investment is one that declines ab initio. Have a look at https://www.wallstreetmojo.com/wasting-asset/
