bleeding secondary to infective erosion
http://repository-tnmgrmu.ac.in/13977/1/220100320navaneetha_...
This occurs due to infective erosion of a vessel or the right ventricle being drawn to the sternum causing its injury
Pseudocysts, severe inflammation, regional necrosis and infection may cause major vessel erosion with or without pseudoaneurysm formation which eventually may result in severe bleeding into the gastrointestinal tract, retroperitoneum and peritoneal cavity

: Pretty close IMO. I'd go with "bleeding secondary to rupture of infected (pseudo)aneurysm" (see refs returned for "infected hematoma causing erosion of the common iliac artery" (Infektarrisonsblutungen der Arteria iliaca (...) bei infiziertem Hämatom)

* Septic Bleeding * of the Common Carotid Artery Following Total Thyroidectomy: An Atypical Complication
... This is the first case report with an * arterial bleeding caused by a septic arrosion * of the common carotid artery after thyroid surgery. In this case, several peculiarities are obvious: the extremely short time between the onset of the inflammation and the rupture of the artery. In our case, the common carotid artery had no aneurysm or neoplasm as a prerequisite for a septic arrosion bleeding.

Arrosionsblutung
von lateinisch: arrodere - nagen
1 Definition
3 Beispiel
- Arrosionsblutung bei Ulcus duodeni
- Arrosionsblutung bei Tuberkulose
