Francesca Casanova (asker) Mar 5:
Ciao Emmanuella, è per un cliente che parla inglese ma è estone.
Emmanuella Mar 5:
I know what 'franco' means. However, I have never read 'franco contenitore', hence, my question. IMO, your comment as regards martini's answer is not correct.
philgoddard Mar 5:
I think we have enough context, and it doesn't matter what country it's for.

There are a handful of hits for this phrase, but I'm not clear whether it means in or out of container. I'd normally expect olive trees to be delivered in containers, then possibly planted for you, maybe for an extra charge.

You haven't asked about 'senza fisiopatie'. My first thought was 'disease free', but that's not the meaning. 'In good condition' might be more appropriate.

Progetto per quale paese ? Senza maggior contesto come interpretare al meglio ?

Peer comment(s):

agree philgoddard : Couldn't it mean the opposite, that they're supplied in containers and it's your job to remove and plant them if you want to? 'Franco' often means 'includes delivery to'.//Yes, good point, changing to Agree. Trees rather than plants, though.

bare root(ed)

Olive trees can removed from the ground and directly transplanted without ever seeing a pot! especially when you are planing large-ish trees for landscaping.

Olive trees are evergreen and can grow to 25 to 30 feet tall, with a spread just as wide. Their oblong leaves are silverish and grow from branches emanating from a gnarled, twisted trunk. ... Same as nursery pot, or set crown of bare root stock just below the soil surface: Family:

container duty

I believe it is a logistical term, to indicate that the container is the responsibility of the recipient.
Peer comment(s):

agree Laureano Brito : I believe it is just the way Maximo has described. Analogy to F.O.B.
