To 'go escrow' : escrow for money - as opposed to deeds - is 'indeed' used in UK / City of London banking but, in UK conveyancing, means holding docs. and deeds subject to a condition, such as payment of the purchase price. Hence, stakeholder is preferred, but NB the overlap in US Am. e.g. the Fed. State of Oregon where escrow 'deeding' is a land registration process I've never really understood.
