: For a US audience, I'd go with 'dude'. Maybe even a fashion-conscious 'young dude'. These are jeans, after all. A 'wise guy' could be misinterpreted as a gangster or a hitman (or a joker?) - and should probably be avoided. ;-)

Discussion
I was looking for something colourful, and decided not to use 'scallywag' - it is a tad too childish in my ears and probably dated!! Its origins in the Southern States give the wrong connotations.
I was not entirely happy with 'rascal' in this context either, but thought about it for quite a while.
