Standard unified translations for computer science First of all, I agree with Angeline's suggested translations. However, we have a great difficulty to have standard unified translations for terms used in computer science. 编辑语言 and 写作语言 are somehow misleading for they can both be used in other contexts rather than computer science. 编写语言 is better in this case, because what we do when writing/authoring a computer program is exactly 编写ing a program in a higher language rather than in a lower language or in machine codes. Using a higher language to "compose" a software/program is exactly 编写 and it is proper in that sense to use the term 编写语言 for such a language. Most of other terms in computer science are not so lucky to have such a distinct translation.
