Context:

Here there are two examples where "avere in carico" is used: I get the general meaning, but is it simply to "possess"?

1) Ente utilizzatore
Ogni ente aziendale che abbia in carico apparecchiature di prova e misura.

2) Uno strumento è identificato quando possiede un proprio numero identificativo (matricola aziendale e/o P/N, S/N ) riportato sia sullo strumento che sul registro dell'ente responsabile che lo ha in carico.
