It sounds to me as if the implication is that the work station is flat and smooth rather than being undulating or wonky. Maybe flatly-aligned is a solution?

more context It's from an ergonomic evaluation check list for work stations. The next entry is as follows "La postazione non deve presentare dislivelli o gradini". I found "aligned" for complanare in the archive but I wasn't convinced of its use here.

Just a suggestion - I think that's the meaning anyway even if it doesn't perhaps sound all that smooth.

or 'co-planar'. Same as 'level', only sounds more technical.
