Italian term
battere il pugno
Italian to English
Other
Cinema, Film, TV, Drama
screenplay/youth culture
It's describing part of the action involving two rappers. I imagine this is when two people touch each others fists with their own, a kind of handshake, but with closed fists. XXX offers his fist to the other rapper, but the latter does not react. I have the image clear enough in my mind, but have no idea how to say it. Showing my age here!
the context:
XXX cerca di farsi battere il pugno, ma non viene corrisposto.
Any help from someone more up on youth culture than I am would be appreciated!

pound fists
I think I prefer "pound fists" from the various possibilities given :-)
"A fist bump (also called fist pound, bro fist, fo' knucks, or respect) is a gesture similar in meaning to a handshake or high five. "

completely off the back of polyglot's reference , but
1. I don't like'pound fist' - think it would be the other way round and
2. in your translation the verb is also important for collocation, so to give a fist bump
