Brick
Also called the running bond, staggered, or offset pattern, the brick layout is another popular choice not only for kitchens, but for living room areas as well. While both the straight lay and diagonal layouts form grid patterns, the brick layout does not. Instead, the tiles are offset such that their edges do not join to form straight lines. To get this pattern going, stagger each row of tiles so that the grout line formed by two adjacent tiles would be lined up with the center of the tiles immediately above and below their row.
