When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

@ Rachel Read Asker's original question (while she is not giving any indication this is a dressing, but suggests it is a sauce, we are not in a position to assume otherwise):
"do i need to add the word sauce in your opinion?? or is it already okey without and people understand anyway i'm speaking about some kind of sauce and not only pepper? "

The Asker has asked that in the case of this dish which includes a sauce, should we use the word "sauce" in the title to indicate that there is one. Personally, if I saw a menu title of Salmon Carpaccio with pink peppercorns how would I know there was a sauce present if the word was there? It is the asker herself who has described the presence of a sauce - she is not asking about whether this a sauce, dressing or whatever, that was not the question.
Rachel Fell Dec 2, 2011:
Erm - how do you know it's a sauce, rather than e.g. a dressing? Do you know the recipe or what else the dish contains? images: http://preview.tinyurl.com/crwhfmj

e poi non capisco perché dobbiamo fare le polemiche quando ognuno è libero di scegliere quel che ritiene più opportuno.. credo.
ninacapri (asker) Dec 2, 2011:
gallagy2 and i repeat that i don't disbelieve anybody, "sauce" is necessary here since carpaccio al pepe rosa (IN THIS CASE) is served with pink peppercorn SAUCE.
Lara Barnett Dec 2, 2011:
@ gallagy2 I am not trying to defend my own answer here, but how on earth would you know this was a sauce without reading the word sauce? I am always coming across various oily fish types treated with peppercorns and there is no sauce at all with this.
Yvonne Gallagher Dec 2, 2011:
So, you decided to disbelieve 6 peers that "sauce" is not necessary here!!! Why do we waste our time?!
ninacapri (asker) Dec 1, 2011:
2Lara: it's a sauce, but in Italian they don't write it... i don't know why... other languages need "sauce" after "peppercorn"...
2writeaway: i know it's easily findable but my question was if i need to say "sauce" to make it understand or it's okey without it. They are 2 different things, so i must say it. Thanx to everybody. Lara answered my question.
Lara Barnett Dec 1, 2011:
@ Asker I am a bit confused about your question. Is this a sauce or is it just salmon prepared with the peppercorns on their own? If it is a sauce you need to say this or nobody will know - it is possible to serve fish that has been simply treated with peppercorns alongside and this would not be describing a sauce in this case.

pink peppercorn sauce

Followning discussion entries it does seen like using the word "sauce" will be necessary here.

"Recipe for wild salmon with pink peppercorn sauce ....
. . . I thought perhaps you could work that simple recipe up a bit more and finish it off with a sauce and felt that rose wine and PINK PEPPERCORN SAUCE would do the trick."

neutral Yvonne Gallagher : I really don't believe you HAVE to say "sauce" here
1 hr
so how are readers to know it is a sauce and not just a condiment used during preparation?

I really don't agree with lara that you have to say "sauce" here. I think it is implied that the peppercorns are cooked with the salmon (or steak). You can say "sauce" oif you like but it's unnecessary. In your other question with AL BRANDY I believed you must actually say "sauce" to make it clear, but here, NO
