Italian term

andare in extracorsa

Italian to English Tech/Engineering Mechanics / Mech Engineering instruction manual of a work centre for the production of furniture elements

extracorsa = overrun
Is it correct to say "when an axis overran" for "quando un asse e' andato in extracorsa"?

to overtravel

for instance in this example regarding an axis:

"Emergency stop button pushed in (turn clockwise to pop it out and reset).
Machine has overtravelled. (If so, you would have to hold down emergency release and jog off the offending axis.)"

Hope this helps.

I think "stroke" is the correct equivalent of "corsa" here.
