The only hint I've found is in a competitor site (competitor with KudoZ anyway) which, for "in tutte le salse" gives "in every possible way", so I presume this means something like "in every channel of the media".

In this translation I think you don't need to stick too much to the source text, by looking at the context you need to change it so that it conveys the same idea as in Italian. To be able to provide a better suggestion for this sentence I would need to read the whole thing. However for the original entry, 'all over the media' sounds fine. I hope our comments help anyway.

Thank you Jennifer and Cinzia for your ideas. The text is giving a list of changes in Italian politics since 1981 and this phrase follows the suggestion that the old right and left no longer have any relevance, because economics have become the most important issue.

In this case I believe you would translate it as:

Politics has become/is merely a variation of xxx and media discussions.

Could you maybe provide more context, what does this text talk about?

Another phrase la politica si è ridotta ad una variazione di grigi e salse mediatiche sul tema. The (much appreciated) answers so far don't really fit this example.

That's right, it means something like 'in every channel of the media'. 'In tutte le salse' means indeed in all possible ways.
