Without hiding their faces/ identities and status
The fact that the participants do not hide their faces and statuses (of drug addicts as far as i understand) makes impact on the public opinion. They are not hiding and openly speak of their problem. That's how i understand this text.

: "Status" is definitely not the right word to use here. Besides, it does not lend itself well to being used in the plural. I am not going to bother you with the associations I am getting from these "statuses" of yours:)
