The Freelancer's Pair- and Field-Specific Directory is great, but since Kudoz points determine where one appears in the list, wouldn't it be logical and fair to have only field-specific Kudoz count for that purpose? Currently, translators who have amassed points in, say, Technical/Engineering, but have relatively few in Law/Patents appear BEFORE the more active specialists in the L/P field.

This is a great idea. Several other members have requested it as well. Ordering directory search results by KudoZ earned in the requested field is on my list of things to do.

This is a really good and fair suggestion. When people look for translators specifically by field, all they find is a list according to overall points, not according to points in that specific field. Maureen's suggestion still sounds great a year later. Is it going to be implemented in the near future?

To be most helpful if provided as the Search Results, the Leader Board ranking could first be modified to show not the separate KudoZ by "Easy" and "ProZ" (with the "ProZ" points being currently the only ones used to compute the total KudoZ sum), but rather to combine both types of KudoZ points. Or, both types of KudoZ could still be shown, but the translator rank could be based on the total KudoZ sum. This would provide the potential client with an overview of specialists in a field by language pair and total KudoZ points.
