Don't like it Jan 29, 2010

The posts are now too small to read. Very unfriendly format.

I liked the old format better Jan 29, 2010

I am not interested in my babblings on this site being spread - possibly out of context - around the net. If I want to post elsewhere, I can do it myself.

OK, so I do nothing, but what happens to the Quote function?
Somebody quotes half of what I said in their comment, and sends that around the world.

I am not happy about it.

Apart from that, I too prefer the old screen format.
Please keep Proz.com as we know and love it!

Mystery solved Jan 29, 2010

This new feature is currently available in the quick poll system.

I wondered about that change, where and why, and so on. It is unreadable mess, I can't see how to quote people, and the posting also appears to transit through a third party, unless I'm much mistaken. Hope they're not based in Ukraine Anyway, it's rubbish.

Apart from the other points to which I adhere, I do not see the need for that "transit".

Nikki,

Thank you for your feedback; I've changed the font sizing to match your site preferences, and made some more changes to better match the text of the site.

Best regards,
Jon

Your content is not posted elsewhere Jan 29, 2010

Christine,

Thanks for your detailed feedback.

The contents of your comments are by default only available through the page where they were made. You have the option to also post your comment to your existing social networks using the "To" button, but it must be explicitly selected for that to happen. I have clarified my initial post, does this help?

OK, so I do nothing, but what happens to the Quote function?
Somebody quotes half of what I said in their comment, and sends that around the world.

At this time, quoting is not available. Others have requested the ability to quote (like Charlie Bavington); I will investigate further, taking your concerns into account.

Best regards,
Jon

Well, if we can't quote, then that solves Christine's quite valid concern

More seriously, is this diabolical new development intended as any kind of foretaste of plans for the forums in general? Not necessarily the absence of a quote button (which gets hideously over-used, in my humble if bad-tempered opinion), but the rest of the nonsense that has been added to what is, in fairness, a pretty good forum interface (I have seen many that are much, much worse).

I find it annoying to be forced to read from bottom to top. It is not very user-friendly in my opinion. Change it back if you can, please.

Thank you for your feedback; it is appreciated. I am working with the vendor to address a number of issues that have been raised, including comment layout (direction).
