How to create XLIFF files with Transit NXT?

Hi all,

By coincidence I discovered a way to create XLIFF files with Transit NXT. It seems that there are no technical problems to do this. Perhaps it is a marketing decision made by STAR AG not to support this:

Chapter 5.8 of the User's Guide says: "It is, however, not possible to convert a Transit project
into this exchange format and to pack an XLIFF project."

Anyway, here is how it works:

1. Create a project in Transit XV.

2. Pack the project.

3. Unpack it in Transit NXT.

4. Forward the project, using the File Type 'XLIFF'.

I've tested this and opened the XLIFF in Swordfish II and III. Then I've made some changes, saved the XLIFF and unpacked it in Transit NXT. Everything worked fine. (Note that I didn't go all the way back to XV to export.)

Perhaps there is a setting in the Transit XV project file that overrules the ban on creating XLIFF files in Transit NXT. You are invited to examine this and report back here.

Let us hope that STAR doesn't 'fix' this route in the next SP.

Unfortunately Start has removed this option with Service pack 5!

I must admit, I don't understand what STAR is aiming at in this regard ...
