Hello everyone
I've heard about this bug but it had never happened to me before. Hello everyone
I've heard about this bug but it had never happened to me before. I must have pressed some kind of shortcut, and MemoQ had replaced all translations with the source text and then confirmed all segments. I'm on 11.4. Is there any hope of recovery? This is an online checked-out project, so I can't just recreate the project. Attempting to re-pre-translate the project yields no results (likely because MemoQ synchronizes with the server and replaces the TU as soon as you confirm a segment). I usually export to RTF before starting the translation, but I was in a hurry and did not do it this time, so there's no local backup of the pre-translated segments.

Undo?

Too obvious to ask that but did you try Ctrl+Z? When this happens with Trados, the undo command is the easiest method to recover.

Alas, Ctrl+Z has no effect in MemoQ. It works wonderfully in Trados.

Remote server?
01:18
I've done this before as well. I'm pretty sure the combo of Ctrl Shift A (select all) followed by Ctrl Shift S (copy source to target) did it. I was lucky to have been working remotely on my client's server when it happened (using a stand-alone version of MemoQ). The client was able to restore to the last in-tact version of the translation. If you're working on a remote server, maybe that's an option for you?

Ctrl+Z was the first thing I tried, within 1-2 seconds after I realized what had happened. For some reason, Ctrl+Z didn't do anything this time.

This client would have been able and willing to do this for me, but: it was the weekend and it was a relatively small job (200 words), although there were quite a few 100% and high fuzzy matches (which I had edited), so unfortunately I was not able to ensure absolute consistency with the client's previous TM.
I have just learnt of the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+Enter, which also confirms the segments, but does not synchronize with the server. This would be a useful shortcut since you need to confirm the segments in order to do QA, but there is really no reason to synchronize until the very end.
This is, in fact, a bugbear that I have with MemoQ when doing QA: every time I mark a QA item as false positive, MemoQ resynchronizes with the server, which means that if you have a slow connection or a slow server, marking false positives in the QA process can be a painfully slow process (you have to wait 1-2 seconds each time before moving on to the next flag). Unplugging the network cable doesn't help: then MemoQ simply tries and tries and tries to connect.
